A pack built on the neighborhood around it

Most of our scouts come from Redwood Shores, Sandpiper, and Nesbit Elementary, though families join us from all across San Mateo County.

Cub Scout Pack 61 is one of the oldest packs in the Pacific Skyline Council, chartered with American Legion Post 585 in San Carlos. We welcome boys and girls in 1st through 5th grade — no scouting background required, just a willingness to try something new.

Build character. Practice good citizenship. Grow personal fitness — all through outdoor fun.

We focus on the great outdoors: camping, hiking, fishing, alongside the practical life skills kids carry with them long after Scouting. Learn more about the national program at Scouting America.
